Where Our Road Leads

I really don't know where to start on this post. My emotions are running over and at times I feel like my life is out of control. Erik finished his Master's in Security Management Jan 9, so after that we waited for the job offers to come flying in, and we kept waiting and waiting, and yet nothing came. Don't get me wrong, Erik had interview after interview, but no one ever called him back. Then February 1st (Erik's last day of work at the Coast Guard) came and went, and we were still playing the waiting game. Along with this waiting, we put in our notice at the apartment to be out by the end of February. Then on Feb. 13th, Erik got a call about an interview with Houston Police Department for the following Monday. We drove to Houston that weekend, and Erik ended up having his interview Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon we headed back to New Orleans to pack up our apartment. We picked up our uhaul on Friday, loaded it up on Saturday (with the help of several wonderful guys from the ward), and drove back to Houston Saturday night. Initially, we were wanting to leave NOLA Sunday after church so we could say goodbye to all of our wonderful friends, however, Jordyn isn't taking the change very well, so we decided that it would be best for her if we drove at night so she could sleep through the drive. We did all this so that Erik could be here in Houston for a second interview with HPD this morning. We are currently living with Erik's parents in their small three bedroom home. We share the space with their dog Chloe, and cat Mustang, and we're living out of suitcases. I have to admit, it's not the ideal living condition, but we didn't have time to find a place of our own. All this rushing has turned out for the better, Erik got a conditional offer of employment (he has to pass a polygraph test) with HPD. He should start the police academy on March 17. This isn't what we had planned for our future, but the Lord knows what is best for us, and according to His plan, Houston is where our road leads... at least for now.
