7 Months

I can hardly believe it myself, but alas, it is true, my little one is already seven months old. She is growing up so fast, too fast for my liking. Gone is my little one that loved to be held and rocked to sleep, gone is my little one who would play quietly in her tub at bath time, gone is my little one who would sit contently in her high chair and play with spoons. Gone is her toothless grin and her quiet demeanor. Now, I have a little one that crawls EVERYWHERE, and tries to climb up EVERYTHING. A little one that only wants to eat what Mom is eating or what she can hold in her hand. A little one with two teeth who chats up a storm (no real words yet, just constant babbling). A little one who tries to climb out of the bathtub (because that would mean she's standing up). Yes, Jordyn is growing up so fast, she'll be walking before long, but as of right now, she likes to stand up and bounce. Her favorite toy is her Exersaucer by Evenflo because it bounces. She loves crackers, whether it be graham crackers or club crackers, she loves them, and to wash her crackers down, she enjoys a bottle (or occassionally a sippy cup) of Kool-Aid (highly diluted Kool-Aid I might add). Jordyn also enjoys swimming, beans, and bbq beef. Oh yes, my little girl is growing up so, so fast.

Drastic Changes
There have been a lot of changes going on in our family over the past month. Erik has a new job, we've moved to a new state, and we're in the process of getting a new house. To go along with all of these changes, I thought I'd give myself a new image, so I went drastic. The last time my friends and family saw me, I looked like this...
Now, I look like this...
Last Friday, I got my hair cut. I've been wanting to cut my hair for a while, it has just taken quite some time to get up the nerve to do it. I had about 13 inches cut off, and it was all donated to Locks of Love.
Easter
We had a quite Easter at home with Erik's parents. On our way home from Church we saw a patch of blue bonnets that were in full bloom so we stopped to get a few pictures with Jordyn. Blue bonnets are the Texas state flower and they bloom in huge patches along the side of most roads in this part of Texas.
They are a beautiful blue flower, and Jordyn look absolutely adorable sitting amongst them.

Crawling
Yes, you read correctly, Jordyn is crawling. It's not a very coordinated crawl yet, but she gets to where she wants to go, it just takes her a while to get there. In fact, sometimes her crawl is more like a lunge than a crawl. She'll get on her hands and knees and then leap forward, get back on her hands and knees and leap again. Occasionally, she'll move her legs in a true crawling motion. I wish I could show some video or pictures to go along with this and most my posts these days, but the in-laws don't have the programs for video, and I can't seem to find where my camera/computer cable got put when we packed. We're scheduled to close on our home the first part of April and hopefully soon after that I can update the photos.

Ode to Jordyn
Our little girl is six months old
She is still like clay ready to mold
She is very happy and bright
Even if she doesn't sleep through the night
She is always active and fun
Any day now she's going to get up and run
Jordyn is her daddy's pride and joy
Even if he calls her an expensive toy
She is definitely a mommy's girl
By my side she loves to curl
She knows how to charm with that toothless grin
She looks like a doll with dimples on her chin
Jordyn has a mind of her own
She's not afraid of letting it be known
When she smiles with her blue eyes bright
She makes even the worst days seem alright
I can't believe our little girl is six months old
Six months ago she was a newborn I could sit and hold
We Love You Jordyn!!
Love Mom and Dad

Our Home
Since moving to Houston, our life has begun to settle down a bit, and things have started to look more permanent so Erik and I began to look for a permanent residence (as of right now, we are living with his parents). A week ago, we started the process of buying this home (this is just a picture downloaded from the community website, our home has more of a red tint to the brick).
We started looking at homes when we were in Houston a few weeks ago. This home is in a planned community where they like to do build-your-own homes. It is already built and wasn't selling so they drastically reduced the price. It's a bit larger than we actually need right now, but it gives us room to grow. Our closing on the home is scheduled for March 28th, and we are very excited. Erik is still working on completing the steps necessary to start the police academy. He has a conditional offer, we're just waiting for the paperwork to be finalized. We miss all of our friends in New Orleans, but look forward to making new friends here in Houston.
