Some have asked were I found a field of flowers to take pictures, so I'll share a little secret. I didn't. These pictures were all taken on an esplanade (neutral ground, median, whatever you want to call it). The one with the red flowers had a manhole in the middle so Jordyn stood/sat on that while we took pictures, the one with the bluebonnets, we just sat her in the middle of the flowers, and if you look closely at those, you'll see orange construction equipment and cars in the background. We just chose angles and crop as needed to try to hide the distractions.
I've been looking forward to having a plot of land to start my own little garden, Erik wasn't too sure of the idea, but I assured him we'd start out small. We picked a nice spot in the back corner of the yard that will be out of the way of his dream deck, and Jordyn's play space. A sunny place close to the hose and the backdoor. We started by tearing out the weeds, and the spots of grass in between, Then it was off to the store to get garden soil, a tiller, 
Erik did a great job getting our little plot ready, and by doing things himself, it got him excited about planting a garden. Once the garden soil was nicely mixed into our Texas clay, we were ready to plant. Erik hoed a few rows and set out to planting.
In the meantime, Jordyn decided to mow the lawn and take care of the flower that she got to help plant. 
We ended up with 6 jalapeno peppers, 3 cucumbers, 4 bell peppers, 4 summer squash, 4 zucchinis, 3 cilantro, 8 strawberries, 3 red tomatoes, 2 yellow tomatoes, a cherry tomato, and a yellow pear tomato. 
When the planting was done, Jordyn helped with the most important part, watering the plants. She is such a big helper! 
However, she's discovered some other fun things, she loves airplanes, horses, puppies, and slides. We go to the park at least a couple of times a week, we take her to feed the horses treats almost weekly, and fortunately for her, we live under the flight path for the Houston Airport so she gets to see planes frequently. 
As for puppies, she got a couple of stuffed animal ones for Valentines Day, and daddy won her a couple more at the Houston Rodeo carnival last weekend. Jordyn has recently learned her shapes, and can count to 5 all by herself. Right now, we're working on colors. She loves to go to the library's "baby time" and enjoys reading stories. On the other hand, Jordyn is getting quite a little attitude. She loves to tell me "no, no, no" and shake her head when she doesn't want to do something. She's also very particular about what shoes she wears, and if you try to put on the wrong pair (she usually wants her white dress shoes) she'll kick her legs and squeal. 
She's also turning into a very picky eater. She loves cereal and yogurt, but other than that, you're lucky if you can get her to eat. She is such a fun little girl and I just love watching her play. We truly enjoy having Jordyn in our home, and she makes our lives very rich and fulfilling.
