started Pre-K at the school in our subdivision, and since both their parents work full time, I was asked if I'd watch them until their dad gets home. They're at our house for 5-5 1/2 hrs Monday -Thursday (Dad has Friday's off). It's been an adjustment for me to go from 1 kid to 3 kids in a few days, but it's been fun. Jordyn loves to play with the boys and they are so kind and gentle with her. Sometimes, she gets tired of them trying to help her. She is Miss Independent
I have seen a huge boost in Jordyn's confidence over the past few days. 
Before the boys came, she wouldn't leave my sight, and most of the time, I had to be sitting there playing with her. Now, she'll play outside with the boys while I'm inside, and even after they've gone home, she'll wander upstairs to the playroom and play by herself. I'm love having these boys in our home, and I hope that throughout the school year we can all learn from each other and that through their interactions with our family, they can feel their Saviors love and encourage their parents to come unto Him.
She usually ends up sitting in the water and starts splashing around. Yesterday while playing outside, we found a baby frog. We made a home for it inside a glass jar. 
Jordyn sat on the porch and just looked at the frog for the rest of the afternoon.
She was so excited to show her Daddy her new pet. They took the frog out of it's home and held it before returning it to the yard. 
The glass jar is still sitting on the front porch with mud and grass in it and every time we go outside Jordyn looks inside to see if the frog is there. Isn't it the best to be able to watch your children as they learn and discover new things!
and Scott (brother-in-law) were trying out Toni's skim board. They weren't doing to well, but they were all having a good time trying, then the unthinkable happened. 
Toni fell while on the skim board. She landed face down and just started screaming that her leg hurt. Scott and Colt got her rolled over and then I came and helped pull her up out of the surf. We thought that she'd sprained her ankle, but when we pulled her up out of the surf, her right foot flopped to the side and we could see the ankle bone stretching the skin. The lifeguards were called over, and to our dismay, they were being followed by the TV show "Beach Patrol" (who continued to film the incident even after they were asked to stop, so if you watch the show look for my family in about 6 months)
. Toni was taken to the lifeguard tower and then on to the hospital via ambulance. Once there, they took x-rays and discovered the extent of the damage...three breaks one on the actual ankle bone itself, and two on the fibula. The Dr.'s wrapped the leg tight and gave her some pain meds and sent her home. She needed surgery, but they thought it be best to wait until she got home to do that. Luckily, we were planning on heading home the next morning anyway. My parents got home Thursday evening and took Toni straight to the hospital were she was admitted so they could try to get her pain under control. Friday afternoon she had her surgery where they put several screws and a plate in to hold the bones together. She gets the screws taken out in about 3.5 weeks. We're glad that Toni's surgery went well and hopes that she continues to heal properly. We love you Toni!! 
Lions, tigers and bears are just a few of the animals that we saw at the San Diego Zoo, and they weren't even amongst our favorites. The Zoo is HUGE, we were there the entire day (and I'm sure that we still didn't see everything). Jordyn loves animals, but she definitely has her favorites, and luckily for her, we saw them twice. She LOVES giraffes and elephants (probably due to their LARGE size). 
We walked to see them about midday and she was so excited, she tried to climb into the cage with the giraffes. We saw them again in the afternoon while we were on the bus tour and she tried to climb out of the bus to get to them when we passed by. Jordyn also really enjoyed the petting zoo, and watching the otters chase each other in their pool. She enjoyed the otters so much that she would walk back and forth in front of the glass trying to catch them as they swam passed. The petting zoo had many spots for great photos so we took advantage of them and let our silly sides come out. 
Going to the zoo also brought a lot of new adventures for Jordyn. She got to ride high above the tree tops on the sky tram (during which she enjoyed looking over the edge),
and she got to discover the sensation of quick vibrations. 
Throughout the zoo they had chairs that would massage your feet. All you had to do was insert 25 cents and the foot rest would vibrate for a few minutes. My brother-in-law, Scott, placed Jordyn on the foot rest so she too could enjoy the massage. After a long day of walking these massages felt great on your feet, and the zoo made their money off of us here. We had a great day at the zoo and we even made a couple of new friends.
Next it was off to the seal and sea lion show. It was okay, not as good as I remember as a kid, but then again, I don't think any thing ever is. 
We also took in the Killer Whale show and the Dolphin show. 
Jordyn thoroughly enjoyed both of these as well as the fresh water aquariums. 
Right before lunch, us "big kids" went on "Ship Wreck Rapids" a water ride in the park. 
It was enjoyable except for the long line. Grandpa and Grandma took the little ones (Jordyn and Keegan, who were both asleep) with them to a cafe for lunch. 
After the rest of us had lunch in the parking lot and dried off in the cars it was back to the park to take in the sharks, penguins and Arctic animals (polar bears, and beluga whales). 
To end the day, we went on "Journey to Atlantis" (a roller coaster ride). 
This time Grandma and Heather got the little ones so Grandpa could go on the ride (though I'm not sure why he wanted to, he kept screaming "stupid, stupid, we are so stupid" during the ride). By the end of the day, we were all tired and sore (except Jordyn who got to catch a ride on Grandma's wheelchair), 
but we'd had a great time and truly enjoyed the day together.
