Erik had to work the weekend of the 4th so we had a low key celebration. We took the kids to the parade in Kingwood Saturday and called it good (which they were fine with since the boys didn't know any better and J HATES the loudness of fireworks). We got to the parade and found a good spot of grass to lay down our blankets and relax, the boys were content playing with their toys (C is wearing Mickey and W has Donald), that is until the sun came up the rest of the way and then it got HOT. About 1/2 way through, Erik took the boys to the car to cool off and try to get them to sleep while I stayed and watched the remainder of the parade with J. After the parade we went to lunch with Erik's mom (who also watched the parade with us) and then went home and called it a day.
